Back in June 2025, there was a creator event in Los Angeles where TikTok partnered with MotorTrend to host TikTok for Creators Automotive Experience.

More than 30 creators from across the country came together to network and gain first-hand insights from TikTok on how to produce more engaging automotive content.

Let’s get technical on TikTok and break it down with these tips from JoAnna.

“I had the awesome opportunity to be invited by TikTok to learn directly from the source about best practices, how to grow as a creator, and ways to make better content. And because I don’t gatekeep. here’s what I learned:

1. TikTok is all in on Automotive.
They recognize the value and massive viewership car content brings to the platform every month. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a car creator—this is your moment.

2. Your content needs to offer real value.
Aesthetic edits and smooth transitions are great, but they won’t build a loyal audience on their own. Teach, entertain, inspire—give people a reason to come back.

3. Quality over everything.
From filming to editing to storytelling, invest in your content. If it looks good and sounds good, people stick around.

4. Track content is on their radar.
I brought up the frustration around videos being taken down just because they were filmed at the track. Good news! they’re actively working on it.

5. Have fun with it!
It’s not cringe to show your personality. Stop comparing your journey to others and enjoy the ride.”
